Assistant Warehouse Manager

Salary Information:
A competitive annual salary will be negotiated with the successful applicant.
Working Hours:
This position is a full-time position. The working pattern of this position is two weeks out of the month working Monday to Friday 9:00am until 5:00pm, and then the other two weeks of the month the applicant will work Wednesday to Sunday 9:00am until 5:00pm
Bonus Scheme:
The successful applicant will receive a competitive performance-based bonus and the bonus is paid quarterly, meaning the successful applicant would receive four bonus payments each year.
JOB DESCRIPTION:
Heritage Home UK is seeking a dedicated assistant warehouse manager who will work closely with our existing lead warehouse manager and our director, Harry Christian, to support the smooth operation of our busy warehouse. In this role, you will coordinate daily activities such as picking, packing, receiving, and shipping, often using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) to keep everything running efficiently.
You will lead and train our warehouse staff, including supervisors and operatives, while managing schedules to ensure optimal productivity. Maintaining accurate inventory through regular stock checks, audits, and cycle counts will be a key responsibility to minimise loss and discrepancies.
Safety is a top priority, so you will enforce strict adherence to health and safety regulations, conduct risk assessments, and ensure equipment is properly maintained. Monitoring key performance indicators (KPIs) will help you identify areas for improvement, streamline processes, and reduce costs.
Additional duties include generating operational reports, supporting budgeting, managing vendor relations, and assisting with procurement. The ideal candidate combines strong leadership and communication skills with problem-solving abilities, physical stamina, and technical know-how in warehouse software and tools.
Key Job Duties and Responsibilities Summary:
Operational Supervision:Coordinating daily warehouse activities such as picking, packing, receiving, and shipping, often while using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS).
Team Leadership:Managing, training, mentoring, and scheduling warehouse staff, including supervisors and operatives.
Inventory Control:Conducting stock checks, inventory audits, and cycle counts to minimise shrinkage and ensure accuracy.
Safety and Compliance:Ensuring adherence to OSHA and company-specific health and safety regulations, including conducting risk assessments and maintaining equipment.
Performance Optimisation:Monitoring KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) to improve workflows, reduce operational costs, and increase productivity.
Documentation and Reporting:Generating reports on inventory levels, staff performance, and operational efficiency.
Administrative Duties:Assisting with budgeting, vendor relations, and procurement.

Candidate Requirements & Required Certifications:
A full United Kingdom-issued driver's licence with no points.
No prior motoring convictions (SPENT OR UNSPENT) due to our company insurance policy. Previous experience of 3+ years in a warehouse role, with proven supervisory experience, is an essential requirement.
Completion of a previous accredited training certification in forklift operation is desirable but not essential, as the company can provide this for you; however, previous experience in operating forklifts at a B1 level (up to 5 tonnes) is essential.
A previous health and safety certification is also desirable.
