Value Added Tax (VAT) Information

Our VAT Policy

Heritage Home Furniture Group LTD is a fully VAT-registered organisation and, as such, we are legally required to charge and collect Value Added Tax (VAT) on applicable taxable goods and services in accordance with United Kingdom tax legislation.

VAT is a consumption tax administered by HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) and applies to the majority of goods and services supplied within the United Kingdom. Under UK law, businesses whose taxable turnover exceeds the statutory VAT registration threshold are required to register for VAT and charge the appropriate rate of VAT on qualifying sales. Once registered, businesses must collect VAT from customers and account for these amounts directly to HMRC through regular VAT returns.

The standard rate of VAT in the United Kingdom is currently 20%, unless a product or service qualifies for an alternative VAT treatment under UK legislation.

How We Display Our Prices

At Heritage Home UK, our advertised product prices are displayed exclusive of VAT. Rather than incorporating VAT into the advertised selling price, VAT is calculated and applied during the checkout process.

VAT is charged on the total order value, which includes the value of the products purchased together with any applicable delivery charges or other taxable services relating to the order. This ensures that VAT is calculated accurately on the final taxable amount in accordance with UK VAT regulations.

Many retailers choose to advertise prices inclusive of VAT, while others, like Heritage Home UK, calculate and apply VAT at checkout. Both methods are fully compliant with UK law. Our chosen pricing structure allows us to maintain efficient administrative and accounting processes while ensuring VAT is calculated correctly on each completed order.

The VAT collected from your purchase is not retained as additional profit by Heritage Home UK. As a VAT-registered business, we collect this tax on behalf of HMRC and remit it in accordance with our legal obligations.

Transparency

We are committed to being transparent about our pricing. Before completing your purchase, your checkout summary will clearly display:

  • The product subtotal.

  • Any applicable delivery charges.

  • The VAT payable.

  • Your final order total.

This allows customers to review all charges in full before confirming payment.
